Kleinhennersdorfer Stein, Mountain summit in Gohrisch, Germany.
Kleinhennersdorfer Stein is a mountain summit in the Saxon Switzerland region reaching approximately 390 meters in elevation. It features notable sandstone formations and contains several natural cave systems.
The area was first documented in 1461 under a different name. It later became a site for sandstone quarrying operations that continued until the early 20th century.
The mountain contains three caves that attract climbers and explorers who visit regularly. These formations shape how people experience and navigate the area.
The summit can be reached via a narrow unmarked path from the southern saddle. Parking is available near the Papststein area, from where you can walk to the mountain.
In 1972, a major rockfall sent large sandstone blocks tumbling down the slope. The impact was so powerful that it broke windows in the nearby village of Papstdorf.
