Library of Contemporary History, Research library in Stuttgart, Germany
The Library of Contemporary History contains more than 400,000 books and subscribes to 480 journals focusing on modern historical events and military studies.
Founded in 1915 by Richard Frank, the library started as a private collection documenting World War One through leaflets, posters, and various printed materials.
The library organizes regular public lectures addressing military history, civil wars, genocide, state terrorism, foreign affairs, and security policy studies.
Researchers can access the library's extensive collections from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 17:00 at the Württembergische Landesbibliothek building.
The collection includes three specialized sections: Zeit der Weltkriege for World Wars literature, Marine for naval history, and Neue Soziale Bewegungen for German social movements.
