Berger Straße is a shopping street in the Bornheim district that stretches through several areas and is defined by small boutiques, cafes, and local shops. The street connects multiple sections with different types of stores, creating a varied place for shopping and spending time.

The street has borne the name Berger Straße since 1862, derived from the village of Bergen, now the northern part of Bergen-Enkheim, incorporated into Frankfurt in 1977. It runs over ground that was the Bornheimer Heide until the late 19th century; from there the first hot-air balloon in Germany took off in 1785. Since 1980 the U4 line has run beneath it.

The street's name comes from the village of Bergen, part of Bergen-Enkheim since its 1977 incorporation into Frankfurt. The lower Berger hosts the annual Bergerstraßenfest in summer, while the upper section stages the Bornheimer Weinfest and the Bernemer Kerb fair. At the Uhrtürmchen near Bornheim Mitte station, the Bornheimer Wochenmarkt runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The U4 subway line connects different points along this street through stations like Merianplatz and Bornheim Mitte. Visitors can easily move between different sections and explore all areas on foot.

The U4 line runs beneath the street since 1980, and its two tunnel tubes lie one above the other rather than side by side because the street is too narrow. The three stations differ by tile colour: Merianplatz green, Höhenstraße red, Bornheim Mitte yellow.
