Beer and Oktoberfest Museum, Beer exhibition center in Münchner Altstadt, Germany
The Beer and Oktoberfest Museum displays historic beer mugs, traditional brewing equipment, and extensive documentation about Munich's brewing practices through multiple floors.
The museum occupies a building from 1340, with sections of the ground floor wall containing remnants dating back to the Roman period.
The exhibition presents the German Beer Purity Law of 1516, known as Reinheitsgebot, which regulated brewing ingredients and methods throughout Bavaria.
Located at Sterneckerstrasse between Marienplatz and Isartor, the museum opens Tuesday through Saturday from 13:00 to 19:00, with a tavern serving regional beers.
The museum contains silver jetons thrown during Crown Prince Ludwig I's wedding celebration in 1810, marking the first Oktoberfest celebration in Munich.
