Botanischer Garten der Universität Ulm

The Botanical Garden of the University of Ulm spreads across a large area with different plant sections, including medicinal and spice gardens, a woodland area with mature trees, greenhouses with tropical plants, and water features. Rose and perennial gardens are also present and alternate with natural meadows that run throughout the site.

The site emerged in the 1980s on a former training ground and was gradually expanded with greenhouses and later with tropical sections. The development shows how an unused military site became a scientific garden.

The garden carries its university's name and serves as a learning space for both students and visitors who explore it. The greenery is maintained with scientific care, so you sense the connection between nature and research as you walk through.

The outdoor areas are accessible daily, while the greenhouses open on specific weekdays. You should wear comfortable shoes since the site is spacious and you will explore much of it on foot.

The affiliated herbarium collects tens of thousands of dried plant specimens from Europe, tropical America, and other regions. This scientific collection allows researchers and interested visitors to study the diversity of global plant life.
