Villa Ludwigshöhe, Summer residence in Edenkoben, Germany
Villa Ludwigshöhe stands on the eastern edge of the Palatinate Forest, featuring four rectangular two-story buildings arranged around a central atrium in classical style.
King Ludwig I of Bavaria commissioned the construction of Villa Ludwigshöhe in 1843, with architects Friedrich Wilhelm von Gärtner and Leo von Klenze completing the project by 1852.
The Max Slevogt Gallery within Villa Ludwigshöhe contains a collection of impressionist paintings and hosts regular exhibitions of modern art throughout the year.
Due to renovation works, the villa remains closed until late 2024, though registered groups can request special access for guided tours of historical rooms.
The villa's cellar vault houses an exceptional collection of twentieth-century ceramics, available for viewing during specific days or through appointment arrangements.
