Schloss Lübbenau

Schloss Lübbenau is a neoclassical structure with a symmetrical layout, two large wings, and a central section supported by four columns. A neo-romantic extension with towers was added later, along with a separate orangery building on the grounds.

The castle was built in the 18th century as the seat of the von Lynar family and underwent several modifications during the 19th century. Its owner later became involved in resistance movements, an involvement that would define his fate.

The castle was home to the von Lynar family for generations and remains central to the town's identity. Its rooms reflect the tastes of a wealthy family devoted to collecting art and patronizing culture.

The castle now functions as a hotel and can be toured with a guide, with most areas remaining accessible to visitors. You should check opening times in advance, and parking is available on the grounds.

A preserved orangery building with Doric columns stands on the grounds, telling of 19th-century tradition. These separate structures were designed to protect delicate plants during the colder months.
