Gentzrode, Moorish revival mansion in Neuruppin, Germany

The Gentzrode mansion features ornate architectural elements, including a granary designed by Carl von Diebitch and gardens planned by Gustav Meyer.

Built between 1876 and 1877 by architects Martin Gropius and Heino Schmieden, the estate faced bankruptcy in 1880 due to excessive construction costs.

The mansion incorporates Mediterranean architectural influences, particularly from the Alhambra in Granada and the Mezquita in Cordoba.

The estate covers 500 acres of land and contains multiple structures, including former military facilities from both German Wehrmacht and Soviet occupation periods.

The property transformed from a textile manufacturer's residence to a military base, featuring an ammunition depot and tank division facilities.
