Bocksberg

Bocksberg is a mountain summit in the Harz Mountains standing at 726 meters and topped with a wooden observation tower built in 1976. A cable car connects the peak to the village of Hahnenklee below, covering a distance of 1,100 meters uphill.

After World War II, the United States Army operated a radio relay station on the mountain to support communications between Frankfurt and Berlin. This military installation was an important part of the area's post-war history.

The summit serves as a gathering place where visitors come to hike, ski, and ride mountain bikes depending on the season. People of all ages enjoy the outdoor activities the location offers.

Access to the summit is convenient via cable car, which accommodates hikers, mountain bikers, and winter sports enthusiasts alike. It is advisable to check seasonal offerings, as activities change based on weather and time of year.

The longest summer toboggan run in the entire Harz region operates here and is complemented by a slide tower featuring three different slides for children. These attractions remain accessible year-round and provide entertainment for visitors of all ages.
