Haidel, Mountain summit in Bavaria, Germany.
Haidel is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest with an elevation of about 1,166 meters (3,825 feet). The peak offers wide views across the heavily forested landscape of the surrounding region.
The area served as an important orientation point for people traveling through the forests long ago. An observation tower was built on the summit in 1934 but was later removed.
The mountain paths integrate with the Goldsteig trail system, representing a significant part of Bavaria's established long-distance hiking network.
The mountain is reachable from various marked hiking trails from different starting points. The best time to visit is from late spring through early autumn when conditions on the paths are favorable.
The mountain stands as the fourth most prominent peak among 131 elevations in the Landkreis Freyung-Grafenau district of Bavaria.
