Greetsieler Zwillingsmühlen

The Greetsiel Twin Mills stand 130 meters apart at the eastern entrance of the village, featuring a red mill and a green mill against the East Frisian landscape.

The red mill dates back to 1706 while the green mill was constructed in 1856, with both structures undergoing multiple renovations due to storm damage and fires.

Both mills represent traditional East Frisian milling techniques, with the red mill continuing to produce flour while the green mill houses a tea room and art gallery.

Visitors can access both mills from the public parking area on Mühlenstraße, located at the southeastern entrance of Greetsiel opposite the red mill.

The red mill incorporates parts from the old Aurich Wall Mill from 1750 and maintains the capability to operate using both wind and motor power.
