Burg Riedheim

Burg Riedheim stands at the eastern edge of Riedheim, at the intersection of Burgstrasse and Turmstrasse, with a rectangular layout measuring 38 by 27 meters.

The castle, constructed between 1200 and 1300, belonged to the Lords of Randegg and experienced damage during the Swiss War in the late medieval period.

The residential tower features late Gothic stepped gables and rises 27 meters high, displaying architectural elements characteristic of medieval German fortifications.

Visitors can view the castle exterior and observe the 1.5-meter-thick walls of the ground floor tower, though interior access remains restricted to the public.

The four-story residential tower includes a high entrance positioned at 4.5 meters above ground level, demonstrating medieval defensive architecture techniques.
