Burg Schwarzenburg

Burg Schwarzenburg is a castle ruin positioned on a hilltop in the Oberpfalz region, featuring standing walls and an accessible observation tower integrated into the structure. The site preserves the key elements of a medieval fortress with characteristic stone construction.

The castle was built in the 11th and 12th centuries and served as an administrative center for the region over several centuries. It lost this role in the 1500s and subsequently declined, leaving only the ruins visible today.
