Burg Adolfseck, Castle ruin in Bad Schwalbach, Germany

The fortress stands on a rocky outcrop in the upper Aartal region, featuring remnants of an oval-shaped core fortification measuring 55 by 40 meters.

The castle, first documented on February 18, 1356, was constructed by Adolf von Nassau-Idstein after receiving land grants from his brother Gerlach von Nassau.

The construction of Saint Valentine Chapel in the late 14th century under Johann of Nassau-Idstein marked the religious significance of the fortification.

The castle ruins are accessible through Brunnenstraße 20 in Bad Schwalbach, located 2 kilometers northeast of the town center.

Reports from 1679 described the structure as a collapsed heap of stones, indicating its deterioration before the Thirty Years' War began.
