Greiffenberg Castle is a brick ruin on an artificially raised hill above the Welse valley at the northern edge of Greiffenberg, a district of Angermünde. Its square plan preserves the 12-metre stump of a three-storey round keep measuring 9 by 9 metres with 1.4-metre-thick walls, remains of an oversized gatehouse, and fieldstone foundations of the residential buildings and ring wall, plus traces of ramparts and ditches.

Burg Greiffenberg was built in 1224 and first mentioned in 1261 as "civitas Grifenberg", seat of the von Greiffenberg family with a hospital. The duke of Pomerania confirmed the property in 1349; it belonged to the Mark Brandenburg in 1354, was taken by the Pomeranians in 1426 and returned to Brandenburg in 1446. From 1473 to 1803 it was held by the von Sparr family, suffering damage in the Thirty Years' War, and from 1850 by the counts von Redern.

The name Greiffenberg appears in 1261 as "civitas Grifenberg", when the castle with its hospital was recorded as the seat of the von Greiffenberg family. From 1473 to 1803 the complex belonged to the von Sparr family, and from 1850 to the counts of Redern, including Friedrich Wilhelm von Redern, who ran the site as part of their Görlsdorf estate. No rooms survive to walk through: the brick stump of the round keep and the fieldstone foundations are what remain.

The ruin stands on a raised hill at the northern edge of Greiffenberg, at Luchdamm 10–15, in the Welsetal. It is a brick shell with no visitable rooms: the 12-metre stump of the round keep, remains of an oversized gatehouse and fieldstone foundations of the dwellings and ring wall, plus rampart and ditch traces. Ground is uneven, so wear sturdy shoes.

The brick castle stands on an artificially raised mound, and its round bergfried still rises 12 metres on a 9-by-9-metre base with walls 1.4 metres thick. Visitors can also make out the remains of an oversized gatehouse and the fieldstone foundations of the residential buildings and ring wall.
