Ehm Welk and Local Museum

The museum exhibits 25,000 objects representing daily life and prehistory of the Uckermark region within a renovated half-timbered building complex from 1692.

Founded in 1913 by the local historical society, the museum expanded in 1974 with a memorial for writer Ehm Welk in a house built in 1801.

The exhibition space documents regional heritage through artifacts, archaeological discoveries, and the literary contributions of writer Ehm Welk from Biesenbrow district.

Located at Hoher Steinweg 17/18, the museum charges 4 euros for adults and 2 euros for students, operating daily with seasonal schedule adjustments.

The building served multiple purposes throughout history, including a cinema in 1911, Hotel Reichshalle in 1870, and underwent restoration completed in 2020.
