Burg Hemmersbach

Burg Hemmersbach is a medieval moated castle with a central building surrounded by water, situated in a wooded area. The complex contains multiple rooms and sleeping quarters that make it a substantial estate for gatherings and overnight stays.

First recorded in 980 when Wigmannus von Heymenbach held the land, the castle experienced major fires in the late 1700s that led to extensive rebuilding efforts. These reconstructions shaped much of what stands today.

The place takes its name from a noble family and now serves as a venue where visitors experience the grandeur of earlier times through its spaces. People gather here for celebrations and meetings, blending history with contemporary use.

The castle is easily accessible by car and located in a quiet wooded area, making it a secluded destination. Visitors should know that this is a private event venue, so visits require prior arrangement with the management.

An underground water system built in the 17th century continues to supply fresh water to the castle grounds from natural springs. This historic engineering feat still works today and reflects the skill of builders from centuries past.
