Burgstall Gegenpoint, Medieval castle ruins in Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany.

The foundations of this spur castle stand 2 kilometers east of Fürstenfeld Abbey, showing the remains of defensive walls and former living quarters.

First documented in 857 as Kekinpuint, the castle belonged to the lords of Gegenpoint between 1147 and 1340, serving Duke Henry the Lion.

The site reveals medieval construction techniques and includes remnants of the St. Nikolaus chapel, which remained active until its demolition in 1785.

Visitors can locate the archaeological site through a memorial stone and information plaque installed by the Historical Society of Fürstenfeldbruck in 1985.

Local residents of Emmering discovered a network of underground tunnels extending from the surrounding forest during the nineteenth century.
