Burg Hossingen, Medieval castle ruins in Hossingen, Germany.
The castle stands at 830 meters above sea level on a ridge, with remaining foundation walls and two defensive moats marking its location.
Built in the 12th century by ministerials of the Counts of Hohenberg, the castle served as a strategic fortification until its transfer to Württemberg in 1418.
The castle chapel, connected to the Martin's Church in Ebingen, functioned as a cemetery for Hossingen residents until the Protestant Reformation period.
Walking trails around the castle grounds provide access to the structural remains and surrounding natural landscape through marked pathways.
Archaeological excavations since 1916 have documented numerous artifacts and structural elements, contributing to the understanding of medieval defensive architecture.
