Burgwall Feldberg, Archaeological hillfort in Feldberger Seenlandschaft, Germany.

Burgwall Feldberg is an archaeological hillfort located on Schlossberg in the Feldberger Seenlandschaft region, rising about 36 meters above the Breiten Luzin Lake. The site features an outer and inner defensive structure with visible earth walls and two gates that display the layout of an early medieval settlement.

The hillfort served the Wilzi, a Slavic tribe, as a settlement and defensive structure between the 7th and 9th centuries. Archaeological excavations in the 1960s uncovered evidence of this early medieval fortification's origins and development.

The pottery found here established a classification standard called Feldberger Type, which remains important for research on Slavic settlements today. Visitors can see these findings in local museums and learn how the site shaped archaeological understanding of early medieval societies.

The site is accessible from May through October and offers an easy walking path up Schlossberg with clear views of the wall structures. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes since the ground is uneven and the climb can be steep in places.

The inner fortress relied on wooden palisades for protection while the outer wall was built from earth, showing two different defensive methods in one place. This combination gives visitors insight into the practical building choices of early medieval engineers.
