Meierei, Cultural heritage monument and inn in Radebeul, Germany.
The Meierei is a two-story plastered building featuring decorative half-timbered elements and a prominent hipped roof located near Lößnitzgrund station. The structure now operates partially as a residence with a garden restaurant area where visitors can dine outdoors.
The building's origins trace back to a mill operated by Peter Meister, with records first appearing in 1547. The brothers Ziller converted it into a steam-powered mill in 1881, representing a major modernization of operations.
The building served as a gathering place for the Lößnitzkapelle orchestra, which performed here regularly for local audiences. The inn maintained traditions of Saxon hospitality through its social gatherings and dining services.
The building is located on Lößnitzgrundstraße in the Kötzschenbroda Oberort district and is easily accessible from the nearby station. Visitors can access the garden and restaurant areas with straightforward entry from the street.
The property once featured a mill pond that was converted into a rowing lake after grinding operations ended around 1900. This transformation reshaped the local landscape and created a recreational space for the community.
