Urberach

Located 15 kilometers south of Offenbach am Main, Urberach extends over 12.44 square kilometers at an elevation of 152 meters above sea level.

First documented in 1275 as Orbruch, Urberach gained significance when Electoral Mainz acquired lordly rights during the Late Middle Ages through the Mainz Amt of Dieburg.

The Catholic parish of St. Gallus and the pottery tradition remain central elements of local identity, reflected in the municipal coat of arms featuring a clay vessel.

The district connects to Frankfurt and surrounding areas through the Dreieichbahn railway line, established in 1905, with the nearest airport located 25 kilometers away.

The population grew from 1,488 residents in 1861 to over 12,000 in the present day, marking substantial demographic changes after joining Rödermark municipality in 1977.
