The Wankbahn is a gondola lift in Garmisch-Partenkirchen that carries you from the valley station up to a mountain peak. Modern cabins climb 1,010 meters (3,313 feet) and deliver you to the Wankhaus in about ten minutes.

The Wankbahn AG was founded on 26 July 1928 by the market town of Partenkirchen to build a cable car to the Wank. The pendulum lift by Adolf Bleichert & Co. opened on 4 May 1929, carrying 125 people per hour. After the 1978 Alpine Ski World Championships were awarded to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a ski area with three, later four, drag lifts was laid out on the Wank as a reserve giant-slalom course. The current lift, built by PWH with cabins from De Giorgi of Bern, opened in 1982.

The Wankhaus near the summit belongs to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen section of the German Alpine Club. The mountain hosts open-air events, including the Bergfestival am Wank, which drew up to 3,000 visitors in 2019, and Wank unplugged on 24 July 2022. The Wankstüberl in the valley station reopened in summer 2022.

The gondola is accessible to hikers and paragliders alike, as it runs regularly and carries large groups comfortably. Bring weather-resistant clothing, since conditions at the summit are harsher than in the valley below.

Five launch sites for paragliders lie near the summit of the Wank, above Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The lift itself carries four people per cabin, and 135 cabins are kept ready and inserted as needed. The 3 km Höhenterrainweg circles the summit plateau on fairly level ground, so even unpractised walkers can complete the loop.
