St. Johannes Nepomuk

St. Johannes Nepomuk is a three-nave vaulted basilica in Eberbach with a distinctive double-tower facade of colored sandstone, crowned by evangelist statues above the main entrance. Its interior features altar pieces in shell limestone, chapel windows with biblical scenes, and artistically designed portals.

This church was built between 1884 and 1887 by architect Adolf Williard, representing the fourth religious structure at this location. This long continuity at the same site shows how significant this place has been for the community across generations.

The artistic portals and window scenes depicting Saint John of Nepomuk tell stories from his life and shape the interior experience. These visual elements connect religious devotion with local artistic traditions and create a personal connection to this Bohemian saint.

The organ was rebuilt in 2015 and with 3,800 pipes and 56 registers is one of the largest in the region. This technical renewal preserves the sound of an important musical heritage for future generations.
