Wasserschloss Schatthausen, Water castle in Wiesloch, Germany.

Wasserschloss Schatthausen is a three-wing castle with three stories, surrounded by a water-filled moat. The structure sits in the Rhein-Neckar region of Baden-Württemberg and displays the typical design of a water castle from this area.

The eastern wing of the structure was built after 1562 by the Bettendorff family, who shaped the property. Around 1720, the northern section was added, and since 1828 the castle has been owned by the Göler von Ravensburg family.

The entrance gate displays a coat of arms that documents the connection between two noble families and recalls their time of rule. Such heraldic symbols help visitors understand the different owners and their importance to the region.

The castle remains in private ownership and is not open to visitors, but can be admired from the outside. The best views are from the surrounding pathways, which offer an overview of the water castle and its surroundings.

The original moat system remains completely intact, showing the medieval defensive system in its original form. This makes the castle a valuable example of fortification design from the Kraichgau era.
