Schlichemtalsperre, zbiornik retencyjny (Badenia-Wirtembergia, Niemcy)
Schlichemtalsperre is a reservoir in Baden-Württemberg formed by a dam across the Schlichem river valley. Tree-covered slopes rise on either side of the water, and a paved path runs along the banks all the way around the lake.
The dam was built in 1940 to supply water to a nearby cement factory and to generate power. After the war, the state of Baden-Württemberg took over the facility and later expanded its role to include flood protection.
The reservoir is a gathering spot for people from nearby villages who come to swim, walk, or fish along its banks. In summer, running events take place here, and in winter, ice-stock sport is played on the frozen surface.
The site is accessible by car via the dam crest, and parking is available near a pilgrimage church at one end. The path around the lake is flat and paved, so no special footwear or equipment is needed.
An old stone railway bridge with arched spans crosses the water and has stood unchanged for over a century. It draws more attention from photographers than the dam itself, partly because it looks as if it belongs to a different era entirely.
