Ringgleis

The Ringgleis is a green park ring around the central and inner districts of Braunschweig, formed by interconnected pedestrian and cycling paths. The route follows the former railway network and provides continuous green connections between different neighborhoods throughout the city.

The site was originally a railway network connecting manufacturing locations across Braunschweig and serving the city's industry. Over recent decades, the abandoned railway line was gradually transformed into a public recreational space.

The park includes art installations and exhibition spaces where residents gather for community events, markets, and outdoor activities throughout the year. These spaces shape the social rhythm of the city and encourage people to meet and spend time together.

Multiple entry points are available along the entire circuit with clear signage and interactive maps for navigation. Digital GPS data files are available to help visitors navigate the full route.

The Nordpark section features newly developed youth spaces and recreational facilities that show the city's commitment to the park's future. This area is particularly popular with families and young people and stands out from the older sections of the ring.
