Eissporthalle Rödermark, Ice sports arena in Rödermark, Germany
The Eissporthalle Rödermark features a large ice rink of 1,800 square meters, accommodating 1,890 spectators with 1,500 standing and 390 seating spaces.
Built in just 14 weeks for 3.5 million Deutsche Mark, the facility opened on March 21, 1980, as the first ice sports hall in the Rhine-Main region.
The arena served as a training ground for the ice sports division of Eintracht Frankfurt and hosted the Hessian Figure Skating Championships in February 1981.
The facility maintained ice quality through a 20-kilometer cooling pipe system that used ammonia as a refrigerant to keep the artificial ice rink frozen.
After its closure as an ice rink in 1989, the building transformed into a roller skating venue and later became the Paramount Park nightclub until 2002.
