Kaiserschleuse lighthouse, Protected maritime beacon in Bremerhaven, Germany.

Kaiserschleuse lighthouse is a red brick beacon standing 14 meters tall at the port entrance with white window casings and a green lantern topped with a pointed crown. The structure rises distinctly from the harbor landscape and serves as a visual landmark in the port area.

Built in 1910, the lighthouse guided ships into Kaiserhafen harbor and operated until 2011 when it was retired from active service. Its long operational history reflects the changing needs of maritime navigation in the region.

Locals nicknamed the tower Klingelturm and Pingelturm after its fog bell sounds, showing how maritime structures became woven into community identity. These names remain in use today and reflect the place's importance to daily life in the harbor area.

The lighthouse sits directly at the port entrance and is easily reachable from various points along the waterfront. Best viewing spots are on the walkways along the harbor where you can see it from different angles and get a clear sense of its scale and detail.

The green lantern features a spike resembling an Imperial Army helmet, setting it apart visually from other lighthouses in the region. This distinctive detail makes it instantly recognizable to those familiar with the harbor.
