Schultheisweiher is a bathing and recreation lake on the eastern side of Offenbach am Main, with designated swimming zones and regular water quality checks during the bathing season. The shoreline is largely open and accessible, with grassy areas along the water's edge.
The lake formed from a former gravel pit operated by the Schultheis company, which was flooded once extraction ended. After extensive land restoration, the site was officially designated a nature reserve in 1983.
The lake is a popular spot for families and young people from Offenbach who come to picnic and sunbathe along the shore. On warm days, it draws a mixed crowd from the surrounding neighborhoods.
The shoreline is easy to walk around and has barrier-free paths, accessible restrooms, and parking near the main entrances. Visiting outside the main bathing season means fewer people and a calmer experience overall.
