The Minckwitzscher Weinberg is a wine estate with a mansion, outbuildings, and a park spread across vineyard slopes. The property features a shell fountain from around 1880 and is bounded by streets on two sides.
The vineyard estate was first mentioned in 1407 in Dresden's records under the name of its owner Hans Müntzmeister. Over the centuries, the property developed into a significant winemaking facility on the region's slopes.
The property displays two buildings from different periods: an octagonal half-timbered pleasure house from 1713 and a two-story wine pavilion with a festival hall upstairs. Both structures shape the character of the place and reflect a long winemaking heritage.
The estate is bordered by Obere Bergstraße to the south and Finstere Gasse to the east and north, which helps with finding your way around. Guided wine tours are available through Sächsische Vinothek and offer good insight into the grounds.
The mansion is marked by seven evenly spaced window axes on its upper floor, reflecting a harmonious design principle. This classical symmetry has been preserved over the decades and still defines the character of the main building.
