Eschenburg, Mountain summit in Hesse, Germany
The Eschenburg rises to 589 meters in elevation within the Gladenbach Uplands, featuring diverse landscapes and geological formations across its slopes.
The original 43-meter wooden Eschenburg Tower, constructed with a stone base housing a mining museum, stood until March 1945 when American forces destroyed it.
The mountain shares its name with the surrounding municipality of Eschenburg, formed in 1971 through the merger of Eibelshausen, Eiershausen, and Wissenbach.
Several marked hiking trails and mountain biking routes of varying difficulty levels traverse the mountain, connecting to neighboring points like Gipfelkreuz Eibertshain.
The mountain's stone base materials from the original tower were repurposed for local reconstruction efforts following World War II.
