Schillerhaus, Literary museum in Gohlis, Germany
The Schillerhaus stands as a preserved farmhouse dating from 1717, featuring exhibits about Friedrich Schiller's life and literary works in Leipzig.
During his 1785 stay at this residence, Friedrich Schiller wrote 'An die Freude', which became part of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
The permanent exhibition displays 100 artifacts connecting visitors with Schiller's literary accomplishments and theatrical performances of his works in Leipzig.
The museum welcomes visitors from April through October, Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 17:00, with guided tours available by phone reservation.
This structure represents the oldest preserved farmhouse in Leipzig, maintaining its original three-sided courtyard layout from the 18th century.
