Schloss Seerhausen

Schloss Seerhausen is a water castle in Stauchitz with structures spanning multiple centuries, including a chapel with neo-Romanesque features. The complex is surrounded by service buildings arranged around a former courtyard area.

This location was first documented in 1170 and passed through the hands of different noble families before becoming the property of the von Bose family in 1688. The main castle disappeared after World War II, but the older service buildings survived.

The park at this location reflects different garden design approaches from various periods that visitors can observe today. Walking through it shows how tastes in landscape design changed over time.

The site is open for visitors and maintained through a partnership between a local support organization and the municipality. Expect varied ground conditions as you explore the buildings and grounds.
