Feldbahnmuseum Oekoven, Field railway museum in Rommerskirchen, Germany

The Feldbahnmuseum Oekoven preserves locomotives and wagons from the narrow-gauge railway era. The collection includes about 55 locomotives and more than 100 wagons displayed on tracks ranging from 184 millimeters to 600 millimeters in width.

The museum was founded in 1976 by railway enthusiasts to rescue vehicles from being scrapped. These narrow-gauge lines became essential from the 1800s onward for farming, mining, and building work.

The museum shows how field railways once connected farms, factories, and mining sites across the region. These narrow-gauge lines were vital to local work and industry for many generations.

Visiting works best during the warmer months when the museum is regularly open. It helps to wear comfortable shoes since the exhibits are spread across multiple track areas.

Visitors can ride on a small working garden railway whose tracks span about 70 meters. These functioning lines differ sharply from the larger vehicles in the stationary collection.
