St Agatha, Roman Catholic church in Mettingen, Germany
St Agatha features Romanesque Revival architecture with three naves, tall windows, and a prominent bell tower reaching toward the sky.
The current church structure, designed by Wilhelm Rincklake, replaced an older 1777 building and received consecration from Bishop Hermann Jakob Dingelstad in 1895.
The church maintains fifteenth-century wooden Pietà and numerous statues from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries within its walls.
The church offers regular masses, confirmation ceremonies, and special services in the chapel of St Elisabeth-Hospital with sick anointment options.
The stone pulpit from 1897, once decorated with saint figures and reliefs, transformed into the current baptismal font during 1957 renovations.
