Brenninckhof, Historic agricultural building in Mettingen, Germany
The Brenninckhof consists of two residential and economic structures situated on both sides of the L796 road toward Laggenbeck in Mettingen.
The main house of Brenninckhof, constructed in the 18th century, represents a two-post timber frame construction typical of Lower German agricultural architecture.
The building maintains strong connections to the Brenninkmeyer family, who later established the C&A department store chain across Europe.
The property underwent extensive renovation in 1968, during which the main house was relocated by twelve meters to accommodate modern requirements.
The southern section features a hipped roof that extends far down over the added outbuildings, demonstrating regional architectural techniques.
