Filmbühne Wien

The building opened in 1913 as Union-Palast and was among the first structures built specifically for cinema in Berlin. It operated as a theater until 2000, after which it gained new commercial purpose while retaining its protected status and architectural features.

The building has housed an Apple Store since 2013, making it easily accessible to the public during shopping hours. Since the structure holds protected status, you can view the original architectural features while visiting the retail space.

Inside the building you can still find classical design elements from the early cinema era hidden within the modern retail space. These preserved details tell the story of the elaborate decoration that was standard for cinema interiors of that time.
