Franziskanerkloster Berchtesgaden

The Franciscan monastery in Berchtesgaden is a religious building with three connected wings and gable roofs. The church inside impresses with its two naves and the characteristic shapes of late Gothic style that give the structure its distinctive appearance.

The complex originated around 1400 initially for Augustinian women and was fundamentally expanded between 1480 and 1519 when the Church of Our Dear Lady at the Meadow was built. This reconstruction phase shaped it into the building visitors see today.
