Friedhof Weißensee, Garden monument and cemetery in Pankow, Germany
The Weissensee Cemetery extends across 43,638 square meters with numerous pathways divided into 120 distinct burial sections bordered by mature trees.
The cemetery opened in 1885 and became a protected heritage site, featuring architectural modifications from 1913 and 1925 that reflect changing burial practices.
The cemetery includes memorials for Jewish soldiers from World War I and contains the remains of 283 Holocaust victims in section 7.
Visitors can access the cemetery from Monday through Thursday between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM, with shorter hours on Friday and different schedule on Sunday.
The site preserves gravestones transferred from the former Jewish cemetery of Köpenick in 1961, adding to its historical documentation value.
