Frasdorfer Hütte, Mountain hut in Frasdorf, Germany
Frasdorfer Hütte is a mountain hut located at about 950 meters elevation on a plateau in the Chiemgau Alps, surrounded by meadows and forests. The building has twelve rooms with mountain views and operates a restaurant serving regional cuisine.
The hut was transformed by the Cramer-Klett family into a modern culinary destination. In 2022, the building underwent renovation using sustainable architecture principles while preserving the original wooden staircase.
The kitchen prepares regional dishes using vegetables from its own garden, game from local hunters, and organic products sourced nearby. This connection to local ingredients shapes the flavors and the dining experience that guests encounter during their stay.
The hut can be reached after about one hour of hiking or biking on forest paths, or by using a shuttle service from Frasdorf. It is wise to check the weather beforehand and wear sturdy footwear if you choose to walk.
The original wooden staircase from earlier times connects the different levels of the building and shows the craftsmanship of old Alpine structures. This traditional element was deliberately preserved during the 2022 renovation and contrasts with the new sustainable materials used throughout.
