Seilbahnberg, Mountain summit at eastern edge of Lengede, Germany

Located in the Peine district, Seilbahnberg rises to an elevation of 157 meters, featuring multiple hiking paths and natural vegetation across its slopes.

The mountain formation began in 1917 when approximately 450,000 cubic meters of excavated soil from the Mathilde open-pit mine were deposited using a cable car system.

The mountain stands as a testament to Lengede's mining heritage, with its name derived from the cable car system that transported mining materials until 1927.

Visitors can access the mountain via Vallstedter Weg in Lengede, with designated parking areas and walking trails leading to various observation points.

The artificial mountain's construction involved an innovative cable car system that automatically emptied mining carts at the summit before returning them empty to the mine.
