Historisches Kaufhaus

The Historical Kaufhaus features over 4,000 exhibits spread across multiple rooms, displaying household items, hardware, and traditional commerce equipment from different periods.

The building dates back to 1897 when Gustav Heinrich Büsing constructed this establishment at Butjadinger Strasse 101, continuing the family business started by Johann Hermann Büsing.

The museum maintains original store fixtures from the late 19th century, including petroleum pumps, enamel signs, and an extensive collection of tobacco pipes.

Visitors can access the museum on Fridays from 9:00-13:00 and 15:00-18:00, and Saturdays from 9:00-13:00, with guided tours available for 5 euros per person.

The ground floor still functions as an active retail space, offering over 3,000 daily necessities, yarns, and knitting supplies alongside the museum exhibits.
