Langenrader Windmühle, Historic Dutch windmill in Ascheberg, Germany
Langenrader Windmühle is a four-story Dutch-style mill on an octagonal brick base with a slate-covered roof and metal cap in Schleswig-Holstein. The structure remains fully operational and grinds grain into flour for sale today.
The mill was originally built in 1860 in Kleinmühlen and moved to Langenrade in 1890 to replace a previous structure destroyed by fire. This relocation preserved the mill's form for the region.
Built in the Dutch style, the mill represents a working craft tradition that remains alive in the region today. Visitors can experience the functional mill as an active workplace where flour is produced using traditional methods.
Visitors can arrange visits by appointment to purchase freshly ground flour from organic grain farming. Tours can be scheduled throughout the year when visiting the site.
The mill has three separate milling systems designed for different grain processing tasks. This technical setup allows the production of multiple flour types within a single facility.
