Schloss Dahmshöhe, Cultural heritage château in Fürstenberg/Havel, Germany.
Schloss Dahmshöhe is a two-story manor house in Fürstenberg/Havel with a distinctive hipped roof and two towers. The building sits within a park of about 56,000 square meters near Thymensee lake.
The estate was built in 1930 as a private residence for Berlin banker Siegfried Bieber. The owner left the property in 1939 and fled to Switzerland as the political situation deteriorated.
The name refers to the elevated location where the estate stands and its surrounding lands. Visitors can still discover remnants of the former botanical garden with its small tropical house, reflecting the original owner's interest in exotic plants.
The estate now functions as an educational center and is surrounded by a large park ideal for walking and exploration. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes as the park paths benefit from proper footwear.
From 1947 to 1990, the building operated as a specialized health resort treating children and teenagers with cystic fibrosis. This medical function shaped the estate's role during the post-war and East German periods.
