Harmonie, Music venue in Bonn, Germany
Harmonie is a concert hall in Bonn seating 460 people with modern sound and lighting systems designed for quality performances. The space includes a bar and outdoor area where visitors can gather before and after shows.
The building on Frongasse housed a café from 1899; in 1920 it was renamed Harmonie and rebuilt as a tavern with a dance hall. One family ran it as a traditional restaurant for over 70 years until a three-person collective took over in 1994 and renovated it, installing an L-shaped concert hall with stage and bar while keeping the historic structure and courtyard.
The hall hosts the twice-yearly WDR Rockpalast Crossroads Festival recordings since December 2003 and serves as a venue of the Beethovenfest Bonn. The monthly Nachtfieber series gives emerging artists a stage, and motto parties such as the 70er-Jahre-Party and 68er-Party recur several times a year. After the Endenich carnival parade, the After-Zoch-Party fills the house.
The Harmonie is on the Kulturmeile in Bonn-Endenich, at Frongasse in a building over a hundred years old. The L-shaped hall with stage, bar and rear gallery holds up to 460 spectators, and in summer a beer garden with about 450 seats opens. The adjoining building, closed to the public, houses the administration and the artists' dressing rooms.
