Versöhnungskirche, Neobaroque Protestant church in Völklingen, Germany.
The Versöhnungskirche is a neobaroque Protestant church in Völklingen with a 66-meter tower featuring clocks on all four sides. Inside, the space has an oval shape covered by a coffered flat dome.
This building was constructed after a fire in 1922 destroyed the previous Martin's Church. Construction began in 1926 and was completed with the dedication in May 1928.
The facade displays sculptures representing work, mercy, love, and fidelity, created by sculptor Wilhelm Rahtz from Heidelberg. These figures shape the building's appearance and reflect the values that were important to the congregation.
The building has additional rooms set up between 2010 and 2011 to reduce heating costs during winter months. This allows services to be held in smaller, warmer spaces when needed.
The Walcker organ was installed in 1930 and features 57 registers with about 6,000 pipes. It ranks among the notable musical instruments in southwestern Germany.
