Burgtheater Bautzen

Burgtheater is a performance venue in Bautzen with large glass facades and 15 sandstone figures on its exterior walls, blending contemporary design with historical details. The building contains two halls with flexible seating, the main auditorium holding approximately 105 to 180 people and the smaller hall accommodating roughly 70 visitors.

The original building was constructed in 1840 and initially served as a storage facility. After extensive renovation in 2003, the former granary in the Ortenburg courtyard was transformed into a modern performance venue.

The theater hosts puppet shows, experimental performances, and amateur productions in its two adaptable halls. These events reflect the city's commitment to supporting local artistic activity and bringing communities together.
