Glockengiesserei Mabilon, Bell foundry museum in Saarburg, Germany.
The Museum Glockengießerei Mabilon spans 900 square meters, displaying original workplaces, workshops, and tools used in the bronze bell manufacturing process.
Founded in 1770 by Urbanus Mabilon, this foundry produced bells until 2003, with its oldest surviving bell from 1639 located near Meschede.
The museum presents guided tours where staff members dressed as founder Urbain Mabilot demonstrate traditional bell casting techniques passed through generations.
The museum opens Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering audio guides in four languages and special programs for children.
The manufacturing process involved placing wooden templates to form molds, applying clay layers, and maintaining a candle next to Saint Joseph during casting.
