Gymnasium Alstertal, Secondary education institution in Fuhlsbüttel, Germany
The Gymnasium Alstertal stretches across multiple buildings on Erdkampsweg, featuring both traditional architecture and modern educational facilities in northern Hamburg.
Founded in 1924 as Oberrealschule im Alstertal, the institution received its main building in 1927, designed by architect Fritz Schumacher.
The school maintains three foreign language programs, offering English from grade 5, Spanish from grade 6, and French starting in grade 8.
Students attend classes in blocks from 8:00 AM to 3:25 PM, with a 50-minute lunch break starting at 12:15 PM for dining and activities.
The protected Schumacher building houses many classrooms, while a 2015 extension added sports facilities and spaces for younger students.
